This article was posted in the Houston Chronicle today as Greg Morago tries to explain the rise of the "BBQ Nerd" and how normal folks can make or break BBQ joints unlike the days of yore. I'm quoted about halfway down the article.

I just read this article as well it is a good one.  There was a great one in last months Texas Monthly as well.  Looks like Texas BBQ is starting to heat up.

When I travel I research as many blogs as I can to find good food along the way.  I can only eat 2 lunches and 2 dinners a day so I have to make the stop worth it!   If a place has a great rating I'll even adjust the travel times of the trip to make sure I am able to make it to a place at lunch time!   

When you start telling your wife that you have to leave at 4 am so you can be someplace in time for lunch I guess you qualify as a BBQ nerd!

BBQ Nerds thats what I'm talking' about.  Been experimenting with new recipes.  I smoked my traditional tri tip.  But not only did beef but some Morrocan Chicken that turned out great and so did the boneless ribs.
