Hope Herman is 11, she lost her Dad a few yrs ago to cancer.......she also has battled cancer. Now she has developed a rare cancer and she said that she did not want to take anymore treatments, her life is in Gods hands.

I know her family, and knew her father very well. All I ask is that you keep her and her family in your prayers. If you are interested in sending her an email, visiting her CaringBridge site, or getting a pic of her to hang on your Christmas tree, then I ask you to email me.

That is MY email. The family knows nothing of this, it is my "thing". I am not ask'n for money, I am only ask'n for prayer. Money has NEVER bought a miracle.

I have a pic of her on our Christmas tree, that is just an idea.

You are right Al ...Money has NEVER bought a miracle, but it does make research possible and research is the greatest weapon we have in this fight. Cancers that killed 20 years ago are curable today. There is probably no-one among us here at SMF that has not been touched (some more than others) by this horrible horrible killer.

Dino, I know money has helped cure many. I don't want this to be a charity drive. All I ask for is prayer. Do as you want, but all I ask for is a prayer, even if it is just one as you read this thread.

Ron, I see you have "There is still hope" in your sig line. I don't know why or when you put it there but I like it. Not to copy or change it's meaning, but I am going to put it in my sig line too as "There is still Hope". Many different meanings there.

BTW, if anyone doubts the power of prayer or a miracle, PLEASE email me. Our family witnessed it w/my uncle w/in the last 3 months.

I know that when it is time to go Home, it is time to go Home. But I truely believe that sometimes prayer can change His decision. I'm not pushing any God on you, nor do I want to........but if you could pray to your God it will help...........and not just for Hope. If you have someone that you know that needs the help of prayer, let us know. I personally like the pic on the Christmas tree, front and center. Everytime you look at it you say "Dear God, do what you think is best for ________" That little prayer is more powerful than anything.

If this was anyother time of yr it may be different. This is the month for family, friends, and loved ones.

BTW, don't think we have forgotten about Smoked, Up in smoke, Ron, or Tonto to name a few off the top of my head. There are our Armed Forces, Police, Firemen, etc.

If these types of things get into a charity drive, then I'm against it. I don't know anyone who would rather have money for med bills than a prayer for a loved one who is sick.

Getting too long. Better go. This is about the only time you will catch me serious and not joke'n around. This is a family site, let us all help you and yours.

i just said a prayer for her, my heart hurts for her, my husband has cancer, and his mom and dad passed away from cancer as well, so i know the pain, god bless hope our heart arre with her.

Al my friend:

The line has been there for some time, before you told me of our young friend. I put it there for my own daughter, but it will serve our friend Hope as well.
It is a line from a movie. Lord of the Rings, when Arwen's father tell her things are hopeless she replies, "There is still hope". The line is repeated by Arwen's future husband Aragorn when he tells a young child who is ready for battle that "There is always hope"

The thought gives me strength. Hopefully it does the same for her and you and to all.
