Hi All For some reason my home made Vortex is not working the way the way it should. Outside/edges temps were only 225.I had to put the wings over the Vortex to get them to cook/ Any idea's/thoughts as too why it didn't work?
Thanks Dan

You've almost a vertical chimney.
Not enough angle to form the nozzle, Therefore airflow isn't speeding up as it's drawn from below resulting in higher temps.
What's the angle on a Vortex, 30-40 degrees?

I concur. The opening at the top needs to be approx 1/2 the size as the opening in the bottom.

Here's mine that I built for the mini-wsm. Its approx 4" opening and 8" opening.
