Here I will be showing my build. After lots of help from dward51 in another thread with wiring (thanks again) and Auber Instruments, I am ready to start a build thread.

Starting with a Commercial heating cabinet. Double doors on each side and already had a smoke daddy generator from previous owner.
I am adding in a 3000w oven element at the bottom and running it with a control box built from parts from Auber Instruments.

Here is the unit.

Here is my order from Auber Instruments.

And finally last night I was able to get the holes cut and parts to fit.

Watching the build. Couple of questions, in case I come across a unit like that.

What heat range are you aiming for?

Do you know what kind of insulation is in the warmer?

I am hoping to get up to at least 250 to 300.
i want to use it for everything from cold smoke to cook.

Insulation is heat resistant fiberglass.

Would this be ok on the block? Hot going in with jumper going to next spot. Other side will go to SSR and and other side of jumper will go to 110 outlets.
Then on the SSR the out contains wire for element and indicator light. Would that work?
PID and lights are both going to be wired 110

Control box mounted, element installed, top cover reattached, now to cover wires, install smoke generators, run wiring to final location and do a few finishing touches before test firing

Testing smoker. Plus side I didn’t get electrocuted or burn up anything. Lol
It takes longer than expected to ramp up. From 76 to 170 it took about twenty minutes to half hour. I will time it for sure once I get the real wiring done and get it set in place in the car port. Got the 2 smoke daddy’s mounted and will get more pics after I clean it up.
