I joined this forum about a week ago and have received Jeff's course.
I am an Englishman , married to a Texan, that moved to the USA 28 years ago, lived in Scottsdale AZ and a year ago retired to San Carlos, Sonora.
San Carlos is a small drinking town with a fishing problem. It is located about halfway down the Sea of Cortez on the mainland side.. It is primarily a tourist town that specializes in sport fishing for Tuna, Marlin, Sail fish, grouper, sea bass,yellowtail etc. We have a LOT of fresh fish. A few months ago I found myself with 40 lbs of fresh Yellowfin tuna(probably worth $500.00 US prices)and mahi mahi and gave most of it away. Now you will understand my interest in smoking.
I have a Charbroil gas grill with a Smoke Daddy attached. I am in the process of collecting parts to convert a dead washing machine into a smoker. Has anyone done this? any tips would be helpful.
