If I seal my BSKD with a high temp sealant will I have trouble with vapors of the sealant getting into my food?

I figure that I will run it first and cure it but will it be safe after that?

It's my understanding that its not supposed to give off a toxic smoke in a fire. However, I think that is just for breathing. Don't think I would want it on my food.

The BSKD door to the smoke chamber does not have a tight seal. I would like to seal this up so that I can control the temp better. How would you suggest that I seal up the door on that chamber and really for that matter the firebox?

I didn't seal mine. I think the loose design kind of helps the draft. Remember this is a wood/charcoal smoker and you need the airflow. Adjust your temp with the air intake.
