My name is Bud. I just picked up a Brinkmann smoke n grill and a weber 18" charcoal kettle grill, both for $20. Was thinking of modifying them some how to use the Brinkmann on top of the weber.

Still interested. Haven't had time to fiddle with this setup too much yet. I bought a charcoal basket for a gourmet, which fits perfectly in the webber kettle. I drilled some extra holes in the bottom of this. I took the legs off the smoke and grill so it would sit in the basket. All if have to do yet is seal up the door a little. Seal up the lid and add a damper and thermometer.
Cool. I really modified my Brinkmann.. Just cooked a ,9 lb pork butt and it held the same temp for 8 hours. I shook the ash once and added half of a new chimney of unlit briquettes once. 10 hour smoke with no foil. I raised the temp for the last 2 hours.
What mods did you do to yours?
Hers what I got done so far. Just have to get dampers made for the side ports on the weber kettle.
