My first post after just joining the forum.  Looking forward to getting involved.

I'm currently just reading and researching, trying to determine what to get.  I know I'm going electric, and leaning towards the Masterbuilt 30" model.  I've read some of the quirks about the model, and am wondering if there is a stainless steel version of the model and if anyone knows that part number.  I plan on keeping my smoker outdoors all the time, with a cover, but am curious what experience anyone may have with these units and rusting over time.

Appreciate any advice on add on parts to get, specifically thermometers.

 to SMF. I have a MES 30 and love it. I keep mine stored in my garage. Search the forms on here about the MES brand and you will find a ton of great info that will help you, including ideas you can do to improve it's performance.

I managed to find a fair deal on a smoker, picked me up a MES 30 model 20070210.  There are so many threads on these I can't find a consolidate area where there may be posts of known issues/things to know about this model.  Anyone know of any such thread/area?

You might want to post that question in the "Electric Smokers" forum, you will probably get better exposure there than in "Roll Call".
