Hi all,

I’m new to smoking meat. I’ve just ordered my first smoker, a Pro Q Frontier Elite, which arrives tomorrow. I’m looking forward to trying bbq of all kinds along with smoking cheese, nuts, etc.

Regards
Nate

welcome to the forum, and to the BBQ addiction!:D Congrats on the new smoker! Go to the store and grab a smallish pork butt in the 5-6 pound range to smoke after you get the smoker seasoned.

Welcome from another relative newbie! Read up here! Watch some good videos (I like Malcom Reed on How to Bbq Right and also the BBQ Pitboys)! Smoke some meat then watch your friends and family drool and ask when you're going to smoke again ;)

Welcome and congrats on the new smoker. So much good advice and tips on the forum. Plenty of very experienced people to answer whatever questions you may have. And, as mentioned, don't forget to season that new smoker before your first cook!!

Welcome to the site and congratulations on the new toy.

Chris

Hi Nate and welcome to the forum.
I have cooked on both the WSM ans ProQ and, although they both cook very well, the ProQ is my choice too as it makes getting to the bottom rack much more convenient. I am sure that we will see a lot of good food coming from yours :-)

Hi Wade, it was your good advice on the wood smoke forum that made my mind up on the Pro Q . I'm a little addicted to chicken wings so they will be my first experiment.
