Truer words have not been spoken! Never have I seen so many strangers become friends in a heartbeat... I feel like I've known all of you forever!

I cannot begin to tell you how much this forum has helped me in my smoking endeavors. Just yesterday, my step-daughter, who is a tough cookie to please, said (referring to last Saturday's smoke), "Your ribs are the best I've ever had... you are really getting this smoking thing down!" WOW! Coming from her, that is an extreme compliment! Couple that with the fact there were no ribs left... I guess I did something right!

So, with that being said, I give my deepest, heartfelt thanks to the fine folks here on the mighty SMF! Without this forum, I'd still be burning, oversmoking and undercooking God's creatures. Thank you my friends!

Just so you know what's going on . . .

If you were to go to your favorite Search Engine and let's say you typed in "Baked Beans", you'll get a lot of hits for Baked Bean recipes and in those hits you'll find my "Dutch's 'Wicked Baked Beans" recipe. That recipe sounds interesting so you click on the link and it takes you right to the recipe. This is know as a "spider", I see them all the time from Google, Yahoo, Comcast, et al. The server that SMF uses shows those "spider" links as a Guest.

Also, bear in mind that some of those Guests are already members of SMF. They are probably checking the forum to see what's new or checking for a recipe or even verifying some information-just a quick in and out. I'm a member of a couple of "Tri-5" sites that I drop in on mayby 3-4 times a week. If I'm not going to post a question or add a comment, I don't sign in and I have a "Welcome Guest" at the top of the page.

Sure it would be nice if all members would sign in when they visit SMF (just so we know who's on line), but I would encourage all lurkers out there to join our fantastic group here if they like what the see (and hey!! what's not to like??
