I have an Oklahoma Joe Rider DLX 1200. I DO NOT recommend this one because of it's controller. Great other features but the controller is two generations behind all the other major brands.

Are you happy with your Pit Boss? I've had mine for about 6-7 years and like it. Bang for your buck it can't be beat I don't țhink. Just write down a list of your NEEDS and your WANTS. Buy what fits into your budget between the two.

I am. Might upgrade to the Lexington or Classic. Tractor Supply has their Classic version and their Austin version for $100 off. Basically for $300 and $400. Not a bad price imo.

I have had a PB Austin LX for about 7 years and it has been great, I bought my son a PB#5 which is the upright with a bunch of racks, it uses more pellets than my lx but there might be a tad bit more smoke flavor without adding a tube. they have moved the electronic control on them now which was a weak point. I like the idea of the camp chef with the pull out drawer to add wood or charcoal. That would probably be what I bought if buying new. Shag hickory bark gives great flavor and I use it grilling often.

I bought a pit boss vertical series2. Recrtec was out of my budget. still not crazy with a pit I HAVE to use a tube on, but once you get it educated, for the money, it's ok. Then I turned into a kettlehead and haven't looked back. I you do go Pitboss, go to Lowes and get it assembled.
reason I say that is: not hard to assemble but there have been comments about damage in shipping.
If the door doesn't fit fairly tight refuse it and make them get you another. Much easier thn trying to get all that back n the box to return.

I’m a recteq user and rather happy with my 1250! The 590 deck boss is on sale at the moment and it has a 4 year bumper to bumper…..that’s about $16.50 a month if you average it out…..

The legend is even a little less at 14.50 a month over the warranty time….. the flagships have. 6 year bumper to bumper and comes in at 16.70 a month over the 6 years……..

….I’m feeling a little enabling…..
