I had a propane smoker and Jeff told where how to place the smoker for the best smoke, My son Mark got this smoker and I got the Masterbuilt 30" electric. I have been using chips for smoke but I would like to use the Amaz-N-Smoker.

Where do I put it or do I just add the pellets to the smoker box????   HELP and thanks

Lucky

I put it on the rack closest to the water pan, and farest from the vent.

I put mine on the bottom rack above my water pan that is filled with sand and covered with foil...

If you have the digital model, lower left next to the chip pan....

He is using the sand as a thermal mass to help maintain temps, the same reason for water in the pan except sand or pea gravel work better than water. Water can't get hotter than 212* and as it evaporates it actually cools the air in the smoker and your thermal mass gets smaller. Sand will get as hot as you want it to and it will stay there keeping chamber temps a lot more stable, plus it's size doesn't decrease as the smoking time goes on.
