I've got one of the cheapo Master Forge double door units from Lowes. Had it a few years and done some mods to it and love smoking with it. Not ready to trash it but the bottom is rusting out.

I want to put a sheet of metal or something in the bottom and just put a new burner in and still smoke with her. Any thoughts on what I could use in the bottom? Some sort of sheet metal?

Also any ideas on burners? Regardless of what I get, I'm getting a needle valve. Thanks for any advice.

ETA: I also just got an amazing pellet smoker from Todd and want to add a mailbox mod for it. So I got to save this old girl!

Hello.  You are on the right track.  Sheet steel and rivets, sheet steel and sheet metal screws.  Go heaveier so it lasts longer.  Just my opinion.  Keep Smokin!
