Haven't been on a lot lately back in early July I fell and "broke" my hip. I actually fell so that my right leg took the full impact. I felt the bone go up through the hip joint. After a fiasco dealing with local ems and fire backing them up I had surgery on July 5th. They added a rod and put what they called a nail in me along with screws holding the metal in place. They claimed this was better than doing a hip replacement. I left the hospital after a couple days and went to a rehab hospital and have been there since. It was and is very painful but I am making slow progress. They have me up walking with a walker not long distances but walking. Thought about going home but could only get PT once or twice a week here I get 6 or 7 days a week and at least 2 hours during the week. This has not been fun and I don't recommend it to anyone.

That sucks Jerry! Hope you continue on the road to recovery!

Sorry to hear it!

Well Jerry, you have been through the paces this past couple of years. I hope you keep healing.
How is Karen?
I hear ya, I'll quit whining about the Baker cyst rupture in my right knee

HI!
Hope you start feeling better soon !

I had both hips fully replaced, one at a time.
Been thru it twice.
I had a titanium spike put in with a ball joint into the hip. It takes 6 mths to full recover, for the bone to grow back.
I was sent home the next day with a walker.
Had PT @ home and later out patient PT.
Took a few weeks to get semi normal.

YOU: TAKE IT SLOW!
I would stay @ Rehab.
They have more expertise then a PT ., not to mention the general Rehab process.
Once you feel you can walk with a walker with min pain?
How many steps can you go before it gets bad?
Say? If you get up to go to the bathroom? In Pain ?
Its normal to feel crappy when over doing it.
Sounds like Rehab is spot on !
Take it slow, Its a very slow healing process.
Yur particular surgery is going to take time to heal.
No Matter what anyone says here?
Take it slow, let yur body tell you when yur ready.
I would request an X ray if yur pain still persists, making sure its healing correctly.
Listen reach out if you need any Advise.
Take IT SLOW...>

Dang Jerry! That sucks! I agree with pcfarmer....don't rush it, let it heal. I'm sure the PT is helping. Glad they got ya fixed up, hoping for the best for ya.

Hey Piney.. sounds like you're going through a rough time!

While you're healing up, grab the notebook and work on some recipes to take your mind of the process!

Glad to hear you are on the mend. The rehab you are getting is the most important part. Glad you are getting it everyday. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

UMMMM... BS Jerry... Get your ass up and go cook something for the rehab people... Then they will take extra good care of you...

But in all seriousness... As they all said... Take it slow and don't try to rush it... You'll be back in shape before you know it...

Good Luck Brother

You made the right choice Jerry, stay at rehab until you've got the necessary mobility. Pullin' for ya and prayers sent to keep you strong and on target.
