I'm going to brag on my students. Today was their last day of finals, and they have time between finishing their test and the end of class. So I told them Blake's story and told them that if they wanted to create a card I would make sure they got mailed. He has 13 handmade cards coming from my freshmen!
Some of the kids who got into this were kids I wouldn't have suspected of being interested in something like this. It was neat to see them get involved.

That is fantastic. I shared this post with my friend so that he could show Blake's parents. Thanks so much for all your help. Blake will be having a great Christmas this year, thanks to the generosity of all you good people.

My day has been made. I just wish I didn't have to wait two weeks to share this with my students.
My fam & I are in, sorry Blake.... Just seen this or you'd have gotten the card before Christmas !
Sorry I'm a little slow out of the blocks, but a card from Canada will be in the mail tomorrow. It will be late--sorry about that

Blake is up to 205 cards and counting. He has received cards from 40 states and a few country's. One of the members on my Mustang forum initiated this and it has grown quite large now, with a lot of us spreading out to the other forums we frequent and having great people like all of you here, all getting involved. Blake is having the best Christmas ever.

Thank you Sir, Ernestina has put his birthday on our calendar....and I updated the thread on the other site as well....
Thought I would give a final update. The local TV station picked up on Blake's story and did a little piece on him today. http://www.wfaa.com/story/features/2014/12/24/geography-lesson-turns-life-lesson/20882461/ Really a nice Christmas present for me.
I don't know if one of you sent the Cowboy's stuff but here is what Blake thinks of it along with the latest map.

He is over 300 and they are only short about 4 states. I can't describe how happy he is about this Christmas and all the cards.
