Hello all, I am new to smoking. I just bought a Master Forge 2 door propane smoker. When I seasoned the smoker the temp seemed to stay pretty much at the desired temp. Now the next day I tried cooking on it, terrible results too say, I had bought a precooked spiral ham, some chicken legs and thighs and brats. I got the fire started and preheated the smoker to about 225, put the meat in and bang temp dropped and was very hard to get temp back up..After about 2 hrs of cooking on temp around 175, I took out the chip pan
and it did rise up to around 200.So needless to say after about 4 hrs chicken was not done and brats were not done and ham was just warm..Can someone tell me what went wrong.. I had not alot of smoke leaking but out of chimmney.. So I think it seals pretty good..Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated. I look back and think maybe to much meat at 1 time?
