Hello all. First of all, I would like to say this forum is amazing. I have been reading various posts for several days and appreciate the friendliness and wisdom people are willing to share in the forums. It is very evident that there are several people with a lot of experience that are willing to share their information and tips.

I will start off summarizing my smoking experience would be a little and I definitely consider myself a novice at best. I used to have a charcoal smoker that I smoked salmon, halibut an jerky on. I always had a tough time not overlooking the halibut, but yet have enough smoke in it. I was experimenting anyway, so all was good.

I live in Southeast Alaska, a temperate rainforest. As with the name, it rains quite a bit here. I have recently asked for a new smoker and posted a thread on this forum asking for people's advice. I figure if my wife doesn't buy a smoker for me for Christmas, I will buy one for her. :). So, no matter what, we will have a new smoker around Christmas. Anyway, thank you all for your time and I look forward to becoming active on the forums and learning more.

Welcome aboard. I like your way of thinking on getting that new smoker.
