hello from silicon valley

new to this forum and very much a noob. i don't have a "smoker" yet. before i invest heavily, i'd like to get my feet wet and learn a litlte (the hard way) on my 22.5" weber kettle one touch gold. (in hindsight, i shoudl've bought the the 26"!.
