New to the SMF. Took 20yrs off from smoking, but jumped back into it with a B-Day present to myself in March. It took some time to modify it to something usable. Smoked 4 Boston Butts, two at a time. First two were good, the second two were better. Learned a lot.

Welcome! I took some time off too when I was not having as much success. On a whim bought Jeff's book and MB gasser and finally made some consistently good cue. Fast forward to today with MES and AMNPS I am cranking stuff I never imagined I would ever be doing. Thanks to all the folks here!

Thanks zwiller,
I don't know exactly why I left smoking for so long. Maybe it was poor equipment, but most likely a lack of knowledge. I didn't know burner controls were adjustable. Low and slow was a mystery.
When it came to grilling it took my brother-in-law who is the grill master at a high-end stake house to help me along.
My time in the Carolinas won me over. ( If it needs sauce, you failed.) Sorry fellow buckeyes central Ohio was a BBQ no man's land. What BBQ was held in high regard was poor at best.
