Hello,

I'm a newbie to the smoker world from Nebraska.  I've been grilling for a long time, but has seemed to me that I need to "up my game" to smoking.  I have just got a MES and trying to figure it all out.  I was brought here by a couple guys at the office who said this is the place for all things smoking, so here I am.

So where in NE are you at?  I am in Omaha currently working........  Any experience smoking?  I have been on this site a while and have learned a ton.  If you ever have questions feel free to PM me or us the search above because I guarantee there is an answer out there already or someone is happy to provide it.

Thanks for the welcome, I am in Lincoln, so just down the road.  Actually I did my first smoke yesterday, a 12 pound turkey.  No pressure for Christmas dinner, right??  Luckily it turned out fine, so I wasn't sent away for the day.  I am glad it was a bit warmer than on Christmas eve as that wind had me worried.  I have been looking around and see there is a lot of good stuff here.  Gotta read for a while to get up to speed that is for sure...

Some things I have searched for on here or learned about that my family loves are "Fatties", "ABT's", and "Dutches wicked beans".  Oh yeah y latest thing the family loves is dried beef.

Here are some links to start:
