Hello my fellow BBqers. I have been smoking on a char broil offset for the last 2-3 years. This year I decided to turn it up a notch and join a local BBQ contest. I will be entering in chicken and pulled pork. My plan is to upgrade or get a second smoker so I can enter in ribs and brisket next year. Hopefully I will be able to start doing a little traveling in 1-2 years.

Welcome mtdew, the ranks of members from MN is growing.  I grew up in Monteviedo, and have relatives in Marshall.  Now here in the wild(desolate) west.  good luck in comps, and post lots of Qview(pictures), most of us like to drool and be inspired by other's successes!  Steve

Thanks everyone for the welcomes. Good to see that Minnesota is a good part of the community.

I am using a Char Broil offset smoker. I have done a couple of mods to it such as adding some more temp gauges, I put silicone on the doors to seal it and will be picking up my minion box this Friday.

I am going to do some pork shoulders and chicken thighs this weekend using some pecan wood.
