SO I was searching to see who has the cheapest Butts around here... Aldi's won at $2.89lb ... They also have the cheapest wings, somewhere around the same price... So I went to see what they have to offer... Now I have gotten wings (family pack) from there before and was pleased with them... Grabbed a pack of wings then went and looked at the Butts... I was pleasently surprised to see smaller packages... They were cut in half, still looked like Butts...Still have a fat cap on them... No bone ... Netted, and vacuumed sealed... Just what I was looking for as I didn't want to do a Whole Butt... Other stores trim them up and take all the fat off...

Nothing fancy...Just some rub and put on the kettle at 0830 running 250 all day... Took lid off for first time at Noon to check IT... 150ish... Alright, lets keep going and check again at 1500 (3pm)... 170ish... Shoooot ... Looking to be done for dinner at 1830 (6:30pm)... Alright, I'll let it keep going nekkid and checked again at 1630 (4:30)... 198-200 and probing tender already... YESSSSS... Now I don't have to wrap and keep cooking and ruin the bark... Wrapped and in a cooler to rest until dinner time...

I know I will get flamed for no pictures but that's just the way I am... It came out very very good... And I was really pleased with Aldi's... I will use them again...

Wow, I didn’t know how good we had it here with our $1.79/lb pork butts at Gordon Food Service. $2.89/lb just seems so foreign to me. 😮

Kroger runs them for $1.69 a pound every so often around here. I just checked and for me, Sam's Club is $2.38 a pound and Restaurant Depot is $1.99 for bone in and $2.38 for boneless. I till have a few double butt cryo-pac's in the freezer from the last sale at $0.99. Have not seen that price since after July 4th though.

That's what they are here at GFS as well... But I didn't want a whole one and GFS is a little bit of a haul to get to as well...
