Welcome Mark!

Glad you are here. Hopefully someone will be able to point you in the right direction to find the tank of your dreams. In the meantime, if you have any good recipes that you would like to share, we are always open. If you have other questions the friendly folks here at SMF will make answer. We also like pictures of the smoking process and finished products. (Food Porn)

Hey Mark, welcome to SMF! The Smoked Meatloaf is no secret here, several of us have been smoking them for a while now. We even have some pic's posted in the Beef Forum.

Make sure you check out your local ordinances conserning the use of old propane tanks-they kind of frown on it when things go "BOOM" in the neighborhood. If they'll let you use one, find a compentent welder that has experience cutting into propane tanks.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the info dutch I will check with the township, I due have access to a professional welder who has cut several tanks. Here is another smoked item that has become a favorite smoked lasagna, you will be surprised on how well this one goes over. I prepare it like you normally would but instead of putting it in the oven I throw it in the smoker until the cheese is all melted and it's warm . I'm going to try pizza's tomorrow I will let you know how it turns out.
