Hello,
I'm just getting into smoking. I purchased a ProQ Excel 20 brand new for $90 about three years ago from my sister-in-law who aquired a bunch of storage units filled with them when the local distributor went broke. Due to relocating to Texas for work, and living in apartments, I have not been able to use it until just a few days ago after returning to Arizona. Of course, since it was my first time smoking, there were a few mistakes made and lessons were learned.
Other hobbies I also enjoy are making beef jerkey and brewing my own beer.
Below is my most recent batch of home brew in primary fermentation. It is an IPA that should finish at around 10.9% ABV.
Here is my ProQ Excel 20 in action.
My first attempt. A 9 pound pork shoulder rubbed and ready for the smoker.
I also put on a top round (London broil) to see how it would do. It turned out OK, the rub was a little spicy for my wife.
The finished pork shoulder. It turned out very good.
This is Lexie, she is my BBQ buddy. She always watches me grill at the back door. She LOVES her BBQ!!!!
Thank you all in advance for any help and/or pointers.
Chris
