Have been looking and reading around site for weeks now, thought I would say hi.  I have a New Braunsfield offset that is very difficult for me to adjust temps.  Have been reading about UDS and have started to build one.  My drum has liner, what a pain to remove.  Do you need to remove every spec of brown?  Thanks for all the information

Most lined drums are lined with a Resin Based Product , either LLDPE or LDPE and ignition factor can range from 400 - 600 degrees. Most resins are safe , But are Toxic when burning. I would clean as well as possible and then burn it out 3 or 4 times to be safe. And by the way Welcome to the Family and good luck with your UDS

Good to have you on board!  I don't have an UDS but have read some posts on here from people who are doing a build.  The suggestions that I have read have been to find someone local who does sandblasting.  Sounds like it does a great job of taking the liner off and saves a lot of time.  Have heard that it costs $20 -$30 to have done, sounds like it is well worth the price.

First off Welcome Ronald to SMF. you'll like it here for there are alot of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking.
