Hello From Beaver County PA! - need help with homemade rubs

I usually use over the counter rubs.   Would like to start making my own.  Anyone have a basic recipe for sweet and heat that I can play with to come up with my own signature rub?

Also the founder of this site TulsaJeff has a rub recipe he sells thru this site ! I purchased the rub as well as his sauce recipe and they are very good ! The rub is a great basic rub to start you out then if you want you could add a little of this and that to it as well..... Though it's very good just following the recipe. The BBQ sauce is really good as well, I've never been big on BBQ sauce until I tried this recipe and now it's the only one my family likes for the most part and I really like it as well.... Hope this helps !

Thank you - I will give them a try!   I really appreciate the advice - weather has finally gotten warm here and I am itching to get my smoker fired up
