I'm here to learn how to use my new smoker. My wonderful daughter gave me an electric smoker for my birthday and I have no idea how to use it.

That's where ya'll come in. I'm gonna read and learn as much as I can without being a bother, but when confused or stuck I'll hollar for help.

I've done bit of lookin' arond here and you seem like a great bunch of folks that love to cook and eat. I think we'll get along just fine.

Thanks for havin' me.

Welcome to the site, and don't worry about asking questions. That's why we're here.

Welcome Thomas!!
I'm glad I've been pronouncing it right for nearly 70 years.
How else would one pronounce "R-can-saw" ?

"Are cans us" is a very common pronunciation used by folks north of the Mason Dixon line. When I visit Kansas they call the Arkansas river the "Are cans us" river. I really don't care one way or another, but my grand dad would certainly fight over it. The Kansas raiders were brutal to the natives of these hills.

I am blessed to live in NW Arkansas in the heart of the Ozarks. I'm about 45 miles east of Fayetteville, Home of the Razorbacks. Go Hogs. Now, I need to learn to cook some hog. LOL.

Welcome. Here's a good place to start

What part of Arkansas? The north-west part of the state has some of the best motorcycle roads in the country. I have enjoyed many of them.

I am blessed to live very close to hwy's 21 and 412. Just 15 miles north of Boxley. Great area for bikes. Little resturant down the road called Sugar Bugars, they serve awesom BBQ and craft beer. Perhaps you've been there.

Welcome. That's a good daughter!
She's certainly a keeper. I've started doing most of the cooking, my wifes not doing well. I was talking about my love of the slow cooker and how easy it was to cook up a good meal. She felt that this would be another way for me to easily produce some edible food. I'm astounded at the range of things you can cook on the smoker. Corn, mac and cheese, Cabbage and potatoes just to name a few. Who says cookin' can't be fun too.

I will say this. I belong to several firearms related forums and am no stranger to the way they work. This is the friendliest bunch of folks I've ever encountered. Thank you all for the warm welcome, you're too kind.
