My name is Kade, and I am not sure how much I will post as I am normally a lurker on forums in general, but as I have gained a lot of what so far seems to be good well informed knowledge from here, I figured I could at least introduce myself.
I own a Masterbuilt analogue electric smoker that has served me well over the last couple years. but I want to try some cold smoking and a few other things this unit will not do.
I found this forum when I started looking for a bigger better smoker without breaking my bank. I settled on one with no research having been done (which is unusual for me) however the sams did not have the bigger masterbuilt I was looking for, so I started researching.
I still think I am stuck on the 40" masterbuilt once they release them to the stores, unless someone can tell me about a better product that I do not have use proprietary wood in, and is as large as the masterbuilt and has the capability of cold smoking (with the additional smoke generator for $60). I am open to suggestions.
I also recently inherited a side by side charcoal smoker that I have yet to use for lack of experience and willingness to brave the weather to play with it while not knowing exactly what I am doing.
and because I am young and one of the live for now and the want everything immediately part of society; I also ordered an A-maze-N Pellet Smoker package 3. So I will experiment with that when I get it.
Other than that I live in Nebraska and my hobbies are hunting and fishing, and cooking and processing my own meats and vegetables. I also grow a pretty good garden and enjoy fruit bushes as well.
