That one of the things my doctor office said was no advantage plans. I still pretty worried I going to end up with no ins or doctor next year. I just hope they extend the Tax Credits!
I find it hard to believe they would not take advantage plans. I think everyone I know on medicare has an advantage plan. Maybe its time to find a new doctor/practice? If i recall, you live in a fairly rural area? Correct me if I am wrong there.

Maybe it time to look for better further away? My wife drives 45 minutes each way for her doc. Im lucky mine is only 20 min. But all my specialists are 45-60 minutes out. We jsut accept that as part of the deal.

My wifes advantage plan seems to be ok, when they pay on the first claim filing. Compared to my ACA its FAR better. The issue is United doesnt always pay claims on the first filing and that leads to big PITA, many calls and run around, but eventually they pay. Her hip replacement surgery and all the followup cost $250 ish out of pocket. My ankle surgery cost me $9500 out of pocket.
What sucks is in all likelihood not paying on the first filing is a matter of policy.

Is it that the doctor was dropped from all the Advantage plans or they just don't want to take them? If the latter it's honestly kind of a dick move by your doctor. If that's the case and it were me, as someone else said I'd widen my search for a doctor.

I am sure you are old enough to remember way back like 25-30 years ago Humana got busted for such practices...I have them back then. What United is doing seems so similar.

That office sounds quite s**ty. You gotta wonder if they were dropped, no medical practice in the right mind would drop advantage pans. for the provider, they seem like cash cows!

I would bale on them in principle. I am very willing to go further for better.

I occasionally walk thru Walmart and there is a table with info on Walmarts Health Insurance manned by a Walmart employee..
I ever checked it out further, but would if I was searching.

Are they soliciting new employees by advertising their health insurance, or is this a plan underwritten by WalMart?

My Medicare Part D plan is called Humana-WalMart and is has some special pricing.

Update!

This morning i got the surgery to remove the hardware and fix some tendon issues. So glad that is done. Doesnt feel bad at all, walked in the house and with no narcotics, just a little sore. Just to complain, the only place they would approve was an 1:15 away and had to be there at 5:45 am, so 4:30 departure. Worth it for sure, just rough with no coffee.
