Hello from Washington, DC!  I am very happy to have found this forum.  For over a year now, I have been telling my fiance that the day after we buy our first house, I'm buying my first smoker.  First, I love to prepare and eat food as it is.  I like to get creative in the kitchen and "break bread" with friends and family over what I've made.  Second, not only am I a huge BBQ fan, but I find I am pickier about BBQ than any other 'genre' of food.  Third, I am fascinated with what one can do with a smoker.  The ability to get creative with BBQ?  Shut up and take my money!

I'm getting married in less than a month and sometime next year, my wife and I will be relocating to Florida.  We're both from Florida so it won't really be a culture shock for us, and it will definitely put me one step closer to fulfilling my smoker cooker dreams.

Even though I'm a bit out from smoking my first meat, I can't wait to devour all the information this site has to offer.  This is exactly the type of site I've been looking for!  Thanks ahead of time to any veterans of the smoker cooking game will will help me on the road to my first smoker.

Regards

Dave, Ed, Bill and Stan,

Thanks so much for your replies!

Bill, The reason I can't get started right away is that I am in an apartment with no balcony (very common up here).  I'm not sure even the simplest of setups would allow for indoor smoking.

Stan,

It makes my mouth water just looking at what you have going on there.  Your neighbors must love you.

As soon as I'm able, I'm going to jump in head first.  I will be sure to take a lot of pics.  Let's hope that day comes sooner than later!

I completely understand Bradley (that is my oldest son's name).  I lived in DC for a few years in the 80's working for THE Pres. (Regan).  Not a lot of space.

Hang in there and drop in frequently to "get your drool on" by checking out our Q-view.

Good luck and good smoking
