Thank you all for the Birthday wishes sent my way. And yes, the birthday cake came out of the dutch oven-since Ma Dutch's b-day is in August and both of my brother's and a sis-in-law b-day is in September we had a family birthday get together last Sunday and I made a pineapple upside down cake in the ol' black pot.

And Monty-your birthday poem is better than any Hallmark card that I could ever receive.

In parting and in celebration of my birthday-Barkeep, the drinks are on me-. . .

Goodness Gracious, Dutch!

Had I but known!
(Haven't been on in a while, a week of working nights- useless during the day, then on call for the holiday and still am)

Well, you share my mama's b'day, 4 days before my Daddy's (Rest their souls) and 10 after mine!

'Ceptin' I'm 2 years older than you.
Now I really do feel old!

If'n I'da known I'd've made up some Dutch's Baked Beans for the occasion!

Keep thinking about 'em. Thinking I gotta smoke somethin' just so's I can make some Dutch's!

Look at the pineapple every time I'm in the store and think of you (Yumm! -well, the beans anyway! I haven't actually tasted you! <LOL>)

Was gonna smoke a brisket over the long weekend, but got called out- 2 hours away, couple of hours to fix what was wrong and a couple more hours home. No time to get the stuff for readying. Just as well, as wouldn't have had full time to smoke on Monday. Got called out to the same place, same problem Monday!

So maybe I'll smoke one in your honor this weekend!

Karie, who is having Chinese takeout tonight- Didn't want to waste the chicken thighs on ordinary cooking. Will brine tonight and smoke tomorrow.
