I was on amazon the other night looking at porkert hand grinders. Dang they dont even look the same anymore
(i should have kept mine)

Anways

I kept seeing a model come up for $28.99

What the heck its only 28.99 so i ordered it.

Figured hey if i only get a few grinds out of it.

So this morning i opened the box. Took it out and washed everything.
Went over the instructions (pretty basic)

Put it together.

The make is a LHS.

Below are some pics.

Like all grinders you will have some excess in the auger tube.

A slight smear. I would say if you try to crank full frozen you will break something.

Hardly any left.

The button activates the lock to hold the main auger tube.

Blade sits on the pins (could be the weak point if your meat is too frozen)

The crank could be the other weak part

Ok its not a $500 grinder but for $28 im happy with it. Beats hauling out the 30lb LEM

I went back to amazon to buy a couple more and it shows not available.

They do have a web site lhs-kitchenDOTcom

Any unit that will crank out sausage is ok in my book. I'm to old to crank it by hand so I'll stick with my STX Megaforce. For $28 you can't go wrong

Nice looking little grinder. Seems to have done the job and you cannot argue with the price. There is still a grinder made in the USA but it is costly. For those who want to go old fashioned:

Great find Rick looks like it did a very good job and sure can't beat the price.

Rick That looks great for that price I am going to show my son Thannks.
Just checked and it looks like Amazon has it cheaper

Nice write up. And for a small batch here and there. It sounds like a good thing to have around.

The grinder is not a super mincer but it works.

Like other plastic items, if you force it will fail.

Nice, I certainly could see where frozen may not be a good thing. Did not look at site but blades and plate availability I would assume.?

I have the exact grinder and it has served me well. On that note, I am also LOVING my cheap jerky gun to stuff sausage. SO much easier to clean and far less waste. WAY easier to stuff snack sticks too. Sausage making is somewhat like brewing and many guys lots of money on big fancy SS toys only to find out the above. That said, for hunters and huge batches it's a no brainer you need big guns.
