I really think there is something wrong with me!!!! Last year I picked the hottest day of the year to blow insulation in my attic. This year I probably picked one of the top 10 hottest days of the year to start on my reverse flow's. Nothing real fancy, 42 inchs long by 18 inch diameter, 3/8 inch pipe and 1/4 inch end plates. It had been awhile since I had the stick burner out, so I grabbed a hand full of 7018 and went after it. In a previous project I had cut a section out of the pipe, so I had to cut the door ends and weld them back in place before I could weld the end plates on. These were cut with my metabo and the end plates were cut with the spectrum 375 x-treme plasma cutter. I picked up a new hood last week and I'm here to tell ya this thing is like the caddy of helmets. It does not have any kind of filter but it had an exhaust built in so breathing does not fog up the lens, very cool feature that works. To many setting to talk about all of them but it can be set to stay light for grinding and then switch right to welding with out pressing any buttons. Another very very cool feature. The side windows are one of those extras that are just too cool, won't be anyone sneaking up on me and yelling WHAT YA DOING, and making me nearly pee my pants. I can be kinda jumpy sometimes LOL. The chain hoist is to get the pipe back to the proper size for the door to fit. The pick of the grinder is to show the mod I made to the guard so that I can run the 6" cut off wheels, it has a detent set-up so you dont have to loosen the friction clamp to move it. The detent is spring loaded and all I have to do it grab the guard and move it to the nearest detent that works for me. And the plasma is super cool. I would like to suggest that anyone planning to buy one that may be buying one that they go with the next size larger then the 375. It cuts nice and I can actually cut 3/8 and make it look decent but going that slow its really hard to make a nice cut. Under 1/4" its great. And I went ahead and posted the pic of me since its very rare that someone takes my picture, I go to extreme measures to avoid my pic being taken.
