Well you don't win anything, but thought this is pretty cool. I did a bow fishing tournament over the weekend and at the same time there was a hook and line tournament division as well. So this is the total amount of carp taken out of the lake in both divisions. I will tell you a little later the total weight. Sorry about the angle I couldn't get it to rotate and still be able to paste it. Oh by the way I did smoke a pork butt while I was camping on the ECB. I gotta say after getting use to the GOSM (propane) charcoal puts out a better product. Looks like I better get another smoker.

5 tons

Dang , I hate being the devils advocate ( and that looks like about 5- 6 tons of fertalizer to me )
But , i guess from clean water , they are sposed to be good , not too far from the catfish and lot's of folks eat them . The few waleyes I've caught been hanging at the bottom too

30 years ago spearin suckers in the spring and tossing them in five gallon buckets , netted us a buck a peice.
Not many waters around that I'll eat any fish from , but fresh , caught by me trout from the streams in the Adirondacks allways have a place in my frying pan

Yeah, I remember 25 years ago, wading the drainage ditches in the Mississippi River bottoms of SE Missouri with a bow or gig in hand. Remember some of them big ol' carp reaching 3 feet. Don't ever recall eating one... But I'll guess about 5,600#

Didn't mean to offend anyone who eats carp, but where I'm from in Ohio, I have always been told that they (carp) had some sort of a "mud vayne" that needed to be removed prior to cooking/consuming... We can't eat any fish from the waterways in my area. The Great Miami river is real close to my home, and in the canal I could gig/bow these things all day long. Never thought about that before, sounds like fun!

no guess on the weight..........but carp, when done correctly is great.........i have had it smoked and fried...........this biggest knock against carp, is its bony.........VERY bony.......but to get around that, you slice the carp about every 1/2......this is to let the hot oil get into the meat, and disolve the pin bones..........all thats left is the dinosaur looknig bones..........but its GREAT eating........
