When I made my shredded beef, I bought a couple cans of Bush's Grilling Beans. I've eaten them quite often, but I think it's time for me to try something of my own, so I figured I'd ask you folks. :)

I want something spicier, maybe throw in some bacon pieces and peppers. What kind of beans do you use? Favorite recipes?

I'm not looking to blow my mouth off, I like spice I can taste and gives a little burn but not require me to sit at the table drooling into a cup for 45min (yes, this happened to me trying BDubs Blazing wings, just one bite).

Other thoughts/opinions on making some good smoky, savory, spicy baked beans?

Thanks!

I some what follow the below and kick it up with various peppers.

I use and love this from @Dutch .
I add a can of peach pie filling.

If you want to be lazy or just want something for quick weeknight meals, Bush's just came out with Dave's Hot Honey beans. I haven't tried them yet but reviews are good. Being a new flavor, they might be hard to find but Google is your friend.

I'm an infrequent contributor. :) Ever since I moved to this apartment in 2021, they don't allow anything other than gas grills, so I've not used my Weber kettle in years.

I'll take a can and add crushed red pepper, or a few jalapenos. Add some extra BBQ sauce, molasses or brown sugar to make them your own.
