Greetings to all!  My name is Greg and I hail from West Virginia.  I used to live in Austin, TX where I got hooked on good smoked brisket.  I haven't had smoked brisket since moving back to West Virginia about 6 years ago, so I decided to get my smoker in order to smoke my own brisket.  There is absolutely nowhere in my neck of the woods to get smoked brisket.

I have a Brinkmann Smoke n Pit that I have had for about 6 years.  I was trying to decide whether to invest in another smoker or to just modify this one and I decided to modify.  Up to this point I have primarily used it as only a grill.  After doing some research I found this site and have already done many of the mods I have found on this site.  So far she is working much better and I have already turned out some great meat.  I am adding tuner plates and a baffle today and will post pictures once I have that completed.

I really must thank everyone on this site for the info contained here.  It is truly valuable information that has helped me get closer to my goal.  I am not yet ready to attempt a brisket but I will be soon.  I just want to get the temperature controlled a bit more and then I will go for the gold!

Thanks everyone!

Greg
