Hi there and thanks for this great site! I'm Wes from the sweet north of Sweden where winter is cold, snow is plentiful, where the summer is less cold and the mosquitos in good supply!

I found this fantastic site some while ago while looking for info on brining and cold smoking bacon. And info there was! I ended up building a new venturi type smoker. It works great for smoking salmon, trout, char and other good fish. Done plenty of pork, beef, moose and reindeer on it also.

Thanks to this site I am now on a totally new journey: the reverse flow smoker. Building in progress and can't wait to fire it up! Thanks to all the great guys on this site I managed (I think!) to make a good plan and dimensioning everything properly. Plus all the good tips I have picked up in various threads!

So, summing it up. Long time smoker, rookie with RF. Can't wait to throw some moose and pork on that BBQ!

Welcome Wes!!  Glad to see you here, My grandfather came from the area around Ed, Sweden.  I am glad to see that there some meat smokers still there.  This site is a smokers paradise, as I see you have learned.  Any question that I have had has been answered very promptly, and the advice is most informative.  Enjoy being here as much as I have!  Steve

Welcome!  I'm jealous, you rattled off so many critters that we don't have around here....well I guess you can keep the skeeters.

Welcome to the forum!

I have a 22.5" Weber Kettle that started life in your neck of the woods... lol. A family purchased it their in Sweden, and then moved here to the states (bringing their BBQ with them), and then the dad decided that he didn't like using it, and I got it used for $25.
