Hello everyone,

I'm John from Napa, California. I'm a winemaker / former cook. I've actually cooked at a smokehouse once upon a time some 15 years ago. I just recently splurged on a Kamado Joe this past spring and I've spent my summer so far youtubing videos on how to dial in cooking techniques with a ceramic grill (this is my first ceramic).

Welcome to SMF John, do you make wine commercially or just as a small time home hobby? I am a hobby wine maker myself. Got a nebbiolo on oak right now in a carboy. We bottle Sept. 16th.

I make wine commercially. I should be just getting crazy right now with harvest - but we had such a cool spring out here that everything has been pushed back 3 weeks or so.

Welcome from Colorado.
You guys do a bunch of pit cooking out there in wine country, so I’ve been told, ever engaged in that style of fire and food?

Welcome to SMF from a Wine lover and BBQ freak in North Texas!
