Hello fellow smokers.  I just found this forum and based on the fact that it looks totally cool, I thought I would jump in the fire with you.  I'm from MD, mid 40's and just started smoking.  I got addicted to the BBQ Pitmasters show and asked for a smoker for my bday.  My wife and daughter bought me one, and I've used it every weekend since (Aug 1).  So far, even my "failures" have been big wins.  My family wonders why they didn't buy this thing for me years ago.  They benefit from my new obsession.  I've done pork ribs, and butt, whole chickens, thighs, and usually throw in some doctor'd baked beans.  Thinking about trying a pork loin this weekend.

Anyway, I'm a chemist by trade (so I like working with recipes :-) ), and a weekend rockstar guitar player.  But hey, there's always time to cook good food right?  We gotta eat :)

Hello Rob and
welcome1.gif
to SMF - glad to have you here

Welcome from another Maryland boy (reluctantly living in DC until I can talk my wife into moving aboard a boat). Enjoy your time here and don't hesitate to ask questions. There are a lot of great cooks (and some bona fide Chefs) who are more than willing to share their knowledge.

Thanks for the welcome guys

.  Forgot to mention, I'm using a Camp Chef Smoke Vault 18".  It works really well and looks cool when smoke is billowing out of it
