Great Outdoors Smokey Mountian (GOSM)

Anyone else use a Great Outdoors Smokey Mountian charcoal smoker? I just bought one used and was hoping to discuss some modifications.

While not being familier with the GOSM Charcoal smoker but having an ECB h2o charcoal smoker, the one thing you want to do is elevate the charcoal up off the bottom of the fire pan. This will allow the ash to fall through and not cause your charcoal to smother due to no air getting to them.

yea, i was thinking of putting some screws through the side of the fire pan to set a grate on. And maybe drilling some vent holes in the side of the pan below the grate.
