you know what...we redid our backyard and made a patio for the smoker and grill - but its in direct sun all afternoon and scorching hot. Was looking at umbrellas and they are spendy and need big weights to keep from falling over and what ever sheleter we get needs to be removable or withstand winter cold and lots of snow.
I think I paid around $60 for this 8x8. Haven't had it up in a couple of years, though.
I'm turning into a wuss and if it's rainy or too hot I don't mess with the offset.
The kettle fits under the hard cover and doesn't need so much tending....
They sure do run the gambit of quality and price! I've seen some nice ones with built-in LED lighting and screen walls and so on... High wind is their worst enemy though.
The Cowboy Action Shooting Club I belong to sets up five of these, one at each stage, on days rain is in the forecast. We park our gun carts under them. We have been getting the good ones with the roof vent at Academy Sports for around 100 bucks. They are very easy to set up and take down, with two people that is.
They are great. Wind is poison with them tho. We lost 2 of them to A 25mph wind while camping. Was raining so trying to keep things dry otherwise would have folded down.
