For anyone who likes cooking with charcoal, but also wants more of ability to set it and forget it like a pellet cooker; I definitely recommend a gravity feed. I have a gravity fed that's chamber size is probably double the size of this one, and I love it. Add a PID like the DigiQ this one comes with and it will hold temp amazingly. The PID also helps on those super cold days when you wanna get it up and smoking fast.

I don't see a lot of conversation about them on this site, probably because of the cost. But I'd highly recommend it, and this one is a helluva price.

Yeah, if the OP was closer I would jump on it. I already did a haul from SF to Seattle to pick up one smoker - don't think I could get away with a drive to IL :)

Agree 100% with everything said here. It’s true they’re kinda pricey, but they are terrific cookers. Earlier this year I bought my 2nd GF pit...not as big as what krj is talking about - but pretty comparable to the SS1. These are my favorite smoker types - easy to use, holds temps as well as any pit out there, and turns out superb BBQ.

This pit is a great price! If I hadn’t just bought a new one, I’d probably be on my way to Dekalb, IL by now.

Anyone who might be looking for a competition-quality smoker should hurry and jump on this. I’ll bet this won’t last long at that price...

Can you post some interior pics of the cook chamber and ash/burn chamber?
Hope these help. Let me know if you have any questions.

The thing cooks great I just have some medical issue's so I don't cook enough to use it now.

The capacity of this is great if you need to cater or cook for a larger crowd's

Baby Back Ribs 20
St. Louis Style Ribs 15 to 20
Large Brisket 10
Boston Butt 20

It also fits full size hotel pans if you cook in pans.

That’s a nice rig! I sure don’t need it, but if I had the room I’d still consider scooping this thing up, just because it’s such a great buy on a premium smoker.

I can’t imagine this’ll last long, so any y’all who are interested should hurry before it’s gone!
