I came across this page from another forum that I can't find any reference to here on SMF.

It looks like a cool concept and I would love to either replicate this or just buy it if you think the price is right. I have a vertical propane smoker. One day I want to make a barrel horizontal smoker, but for now I'd just add this onto my vertical one for consistent smoke addition and temp control. Temp control's not really an issue with my gas burner, but I want to switch to pure wood source.

Any input on this design? he uses a ramp and air blower for pellet distribution and ignition instead of an auger. It's cost-prohibitive to build your own auger design since you can buy a Grizzly Grillz for $300.

I would add a sheetmetal covering for the blower of course and maybe add a PID controller from Auber or similar. Does it need to be this complicated or can you just make a hopper and have a slanted ramp into a burn pot that you light with a torch and let it just trickle down? I guess it'd be difficult to determine the proper angle for drop for temp control
