The neighbor had a dead grapefruit tree that got blown down during the latest hurricane (nice and dry right now). Has anyone ever used grapefruit wood to smoke stuff? I think it would be as legit as any other fruit or citrus wood but was wondering if any of you have used it?

I’m in the mountains of Colorado so never have had access to grapefruit wood, but I would try it in a heart beat.

I use orange wood on poultry all the time. I don't see why grapefruit would be any different.
However, having just said that, I know there are some medications that warn not to eat grapefruit while taking them, though I'm not a doctor, and I don't know why.
