So my son, the 'graduate' asked for smoked ribs and brisket for his grad party.  How could I refuse?

I fired up the smoker and away we go!

Yes, that's ribs in front and Brisket in back.  I need a bigger smoker.  I've told "She Who Must Be Obeyed", but I think I'm gonna have to get out the knee pads and beg...

Honestly, I don't know where I got that 'She Who Must Be Obeyed' thing, but I think it was someone on this site.  For whoever you are...  You sir, are a genius.  I get a lot of mileage out of that phrase and it seems to make things go much more smoothly when I screw up around here. :)

Be back later with more Q-View!

SmokinHusker, I'm pretty sure I read it here on one of the posts, but I use it nearly daily now.  Lots of my buddies get a kick out of it.  We camp and hike a lot, so I buy a lot of equipment that costs a lot of mullah, so another smoker this quick after buying a backpacking tent (Big Agnes for those in the know) would be a major issue with her.  I'll bring her around one of these days, if I don't get a hankerin for some other camping gadget or whatever first :)

EDIT:  I found it.  It was user Disco in his Canadian Bacon post.

I thought I had read it before. My guy did good then in getting me hooked on smoking - he drinks the beer while I do the smoking!!! I mentioned that I could do better poultry in a propane smoker as opposed to the MES 40, and he built me a beast!!! Now I'm working on getting a smokehouse - just subliminal suggestions!
