got released from the boot this morning. has been about 9 weeks since the accident, just under 8 since surgery. healing well, x-rays look good. wearing both shows and walking...slowly. feels pretty good, a little, sore, but good.

No PT. Been on the spin bike for an hour a day for almost 3 weeks now. Ortho says that made all the difference in the recovery.

Gonna take it easy for a while and try not to break myself.

Congrats. No better feeling than getting anything like a boot or cast removed!
you know it brother! Happy it was a boot this time. previous two ankle breaks were fiberglass casts for 8-9weeks. those are just nasty!

Thanks Brian!

Starting to think I may need the bubble wrap suit...never thought I was accident prone but that feeling is getting stronger.

Glad to hear you are bootless congrats on a great recovery and a quick one

I give credit to my ortho. he is the best. big thank you!
sandyut sandyut , that is great news to hear! Hopefully you can take it easy a bit longer and relax it. You know with a nice long cook! (And a comfy chair)
hope to be cooking soon. as a typical Colorado May 1, it snowed.
That's good news. Don't get too carried away just because it is feeling good, we all tend to do that.
its like you know me. I will take it easy, last thing I want is self-induced setback.
Glad to hear you are healing up!
Many thanks!
Great News David!!!

And im sure your hips and lower back appreciates it to. Those boots throws everythIng out of whack!

Jim
A man who knows. my left knee is sore and just about everything else. they are too tall to balance the hips and back, which gets you into an f'ed up gate.

Just walking straight and not flailing all over feels good!

Good news for sure, David!

Now if memory serves, didn't you say this was a skiing accident? And it was your second bad accident on skis? Might be time to stay off the Diamond slopes LOL!! :emoji_wink::emoji_laughing:
