Good deal?

Hey everyone,
I've been using a propane smoker that was handed down to me from my dad. I'm looking to get something a little more "set and forget"... Especially for getting the temp to sit still.

I came across thr link below at Cabela's in Canada. I was trying to find the latest and greatest MES 40" but apparently Canada is a little behind the times.

Does this look like a good deal? (Canadian dollars)

I called Cabela's and they said the model number is the 20075515. Which is the "includes 6 racks, cdrom recipe book, sausage hanger, etc" version of the 20075415. They have 19 of these left and it's on clearance.

It's the Gen 2 Mes with rf remote controller. Many have avoided this one for interior design flaws. And the original had a left side vent which is one of the pics. They did go to the top left rear vent that two pics show which is the style vent you want. I prefer the Gen 1 or the bluetooth Gen 2.5. Because of the oval large water pans for more even heating.

Like Kurt said, That is the Gen #2, which is the one that's best to stay away from.

Try to get the Gen #2.5---That's the best one at the present time.
The second best is the oldest one---Gen #1.

That's kind of what I was thinking was the case. I can't seem to find a Bluetooth 40" anywhere in Canada. If anyone knows where to source one I would be eternally grateful.

(I'm aware amazon.com has them, but if I bought from there I would pay hundreds in customs and duty and amazon.ca doesn't have the 40" bluetooth)

I finally found one at Bass Pro in Niagara on the Lake.
Calling the store tomorrow to see if I can get it shipped here (to avoid the ridiculous amounts of import duties)

Ha! Found one!!

Basspro is ordering it in (should take 2 weeks) and I found a friend with a truck to help me get it home.

My wife is going to flip when she sees how big this thing is!

I would tell her its the size of a fridge... and then when she is starting to calm down, tell her only a dorm fridge and then she should be just fine with it. I got mine a few weeks ago after borrowing a mes30 and I thought how huge my 40 looked, now when I am loading it seems small at times. i think its all relative.

Surprisingly it was smaller than she was expecting.
