Thanks I had a great time,it's along way away but Darwin is a fun town. The fishing camp is the complete get away. It still has a frontier feel up there, lots of tourists now but the wet season will start soon & things will slow down. The backpacker tourist/ working holiday youngsters will head south.
Crocodiles are a funny thing ,I don't have to think about them in day to day life it's just a news item when some one gets hurt a long way from where I live.
You get up there & get out in the country & they are an issue every day when you are near saltwater. You go from top of the food chain to food item if you do something dumb like go swimming.

The new last frontier for this style of fishing is Papua New Guinea. I am thinking about it despite PNG  being very dangerous in places.

If you get away from the bigger cities its better. There are 2 species of bass that grow to 50 pounds & maybe beyond as well as  barra ,mangrove jacks etc.Stupid numbers of crocs.

PNG  a very significant place in Aussie history thanks to WW2,a lot of tourism to famous battle fields, skin diving wrecks but its tricky in parts.I want to be in a lodge not camping.
