We're getting to see global warming first hand here in Alberta. It rained here all day and then at about 8 PM it started to SNOW. At 10 PM the temp was sitting right on freezing and it's supposed to snow all night and all day tomorrow.
I'm thinking I should move up to the Yukon. I hear there's not much global warming up there.

I'm more of a "climate change" school of thought guy.
After living in the same house for almost 40 years (paid in full FWIW) we lost the house, cars, furnishings, etc..in a flash flood in 2013.
Two years later the same creek flooded again and then again another two years later.
This past winter we almost froze to death in our new all electric home when the grid went down in Texas.
I'm 71 and this crap did not used to happen believe me.
Warmer or colder I think the point is that the changes are becoming more common and the effects worse.
As for me, I would love to see a Govt sponsored effort to install solar panels on every roof in America.
Keep petrol juice for cops, ambulances, etc and the rest of surface transport moved to go electric.

Well then, I guess we all need to outlaw barbecue and food smoking because we're making the situation worse because we're putting all that smoke in the air.

How long have you been in Alberta? I've been here 50years and what you have experienced is called "spring in Alberta" wait 10 min, the sun will come out , temp will go to 25 and then a rain cloud will come over, send buckets of hail and rain down. Then you will get struck by lightning. Then you'll tell yourself, " he'll that was the strangest 5 min of my life.

Agreed. Five years in this current house and the Winter of 2020 was the first time we had continuous 6"+ of Snow on the ground from just after Thanksgiving to Valentine's Day. No big Blizzards but frequent snow to 12" and COLD. The Dogs were in Heaven. Especially the Puppy, all thirty pounds of her, seeing snow for the first time.

As a kid in the 70's a new Ice Age was coming! You want proof, NJ got 18" of Snow Easter April 15 of '79! Now Those in the Know claim Global Warming will destroy the earth.
Global Warming dont start Fires on the West Coast, IDIOTS DO! There are an awful lot of rich people buying Ocean Front Property considering its all going to be under water in 10 years. The " scientists " have been crying Global Warming for decades.
In 2005 there were 15 Hurricanes, 7 major including Katrina, we were told because of Global Warming! Over the next 10 years the average number of Hurricans was 6.3 with a high of 12 (2010) and a low of 2 (2013) In the same decade the average number Major Hurricanes were 2.6.
From 1917 to 2017, with the exception of 4 years, '05, '10, '12 and '17, average 11 hurricanes, the rest of the century averaged 6 hurricanes a year total.
Has there been Anomalies and some Weather Pattern change in the last 20 years, yes, but they have gone both directions, hotter than usual and colder than usual, and can be attributed to NATURAL global weather changes equally if not More than Man Made Global Warming!...JJ

Ain't that just the truth. I've been here 46 years. Where you at Corey?

Just like home solar, the Battery tech is not up to a point that you are not replacing a VERY EXPENSIVE component every few years. My POS '05 Chevy Venture has to be scrapped for frame rust through. The van has 250,000 miles and going strong, with very little cash input over the years. When Electric Cars get there, sign me up!

You're so right JJ. Climate change? Absolutely. Changes like this have been occurring all through history. Long before man discovered carbon fuels. I do believe man is certainly not helping slowing down the natural weather change, but the environment woke crowd will never admit that. I think the word "idiots" sums it all up.

AMEN! Her name is mother nature...don't piss her off, she wins everytime! Is that kinda like the experts saying years ago a big earthquake is gonna happen and California is gonna break off into the ocean?

I'm 5 minutes out of Onoway, or 25min out of Stoney Plain. We got away lucky with the snow, it's all gone on my property but the weekend keeps looking cooler and cooler.

You can never count on a nice May. It's 50/50 at best.
