A lot to be pleased with there Jeff. Shows you're strong commitment to the plan. Stay with it bud!

Awesome Jeff and you've managed to stay on track!

Keith

Nice work Jeff keep it up. Easy to stop but way more rewarding to keep going. As I get older and in and out of the gym and better habits the one thing that always keeps me going is trying to keep telling myself I’m trying to be in better shape now than when I was younger!

Way to go Jef
Yep you lost a letter. Check out Doctor Amen. He recommends testosterone replacement and I'm going to check it out this year.

You are looking great Jeff. Since retirement it is hard to get myself motivated to do more for myself. I am doing OK but could do more.

WOW! What a transformation, keep up the hard work.
You are doing great!!!

Wow Jeff!!! Great job. Takes a lot of dedication for sure. I need to get back after it but so hard.
Thanks guys for the encouraging words! I still have a long way to go to get where I want to be but moving in the right direction. I spent most of my 40s and 50s in top 1% shape. Much like my food I'm all gas no brakes with my expectations.

I'm very familiar with TRT and spent about 8 years on it in my late 40s into 50s. I had to come off it due to polycythemia with high hematocrit. I was able to keep that under control for years with blood donations at Red Cross but it got so bad I was having to do that plus 2 therapeutic phlebotomies many months. There are some new protocols out now that are less likely to cause that issue. I'm researching many of them now. For now I am going to try some natural test boosters. One thing I'll say about TRT is find a doctor who is up to date on protocols and routine follow up testing. Far too many will put you on a 200mg shot of test every two weeks. The huge peaks that causes play havoc with hematocrit , RBC and estradiol. Better is 100 per week and the newest protocols are 8-10 mg per day SUBQ. There are even decent daily oral options now. My experience with androgel was not good and I also don't like how it can transfer to others. If you ever have questions I'm always up to discuss supplements and TRT.

Holy cow! I'm impressed with your progress so far. Your story and success will help some of us who are fighting the same fight. I'm finding habbits are hard to change. On day at a time for me. We look forward to seeing your continued progress.

I committed to getting healthier this year. Dieting only for the first few months and the gym 3 - 4 days a week starting in April. Still in teardown mode but have trimmed 6" off my waist this year (8" since last winter). Down 4 sizes in pants and 2 in shirts. Can't do the GLP1 meds because of pancreatitis so just diet and exercise. Met my first goal of buying jeans not in the big and tall dept last week. Plan to be done tearing down by the end of the year to begin adding muscle next year. I love the gym and can't figure out why I quit going about 10 years ago! Still under construction but moving in the right direction. A little before pic and a pic today. This is a big reason I've posted very little as I am strictly counting calories AND keto together. Thought I'd share, making it public keeps me held to task!View attachment 723792
Congrats man that’s some awesome work! 💪💪

Awesome! Congratulations to you! I myself could use to loose a few pounds but I'm the worst procrastinator. No will power at all unless it involves sausage, bread and wine then I'm there lol. Keep up the momentum going.

If you ever have questions I'm always up to discuss supplements and TRT.
Daily multi vitamin, with twice daily glucosamine, calcium, and fish oil supplements. I was doing magnesium for leg cramps, but found the calcium was my lacking supplement. Fish oil has helped keep the high blood pressure and cholesterol in check, but reduced body weight is the key for me. If I stay below 200# the numbers drop. Glucosimine has realy helped my arthritis. Knee surgery 10 years ago and surgeon said I would need cushioning shots due to the advanced arthritis. No shots and the knee is fine thanks to supplements.
My wife found the Dr Amen regiment. I need to read his protocol before starting testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)

Before starting TRT and depending on your levels of total and free test you might try 10 - 20 mg of boron daily.

Is that in a pill form ?? Battling both of those now... although BP is not to bad... only 1 5mg pill a day... Taken statin (10mg) for the cholesterol which I don't like doing...
Can definitely get fish oil in liquid capsule form, pro tip if it makes you burp fish freeze them. Carlson makes great liquid fish oil as well with lemon flavor. It's delicious.

Nice work Jeff! I hit 346 and decided that I needed to do something! Started limiting my carbs in feb or march and was 302 at my yearly dr apt. 2 weeks ago. Like was stated, it is hard to get motivated and be on the move. Arthritis and a herniated disk doesn't help either!
Way to stay the course and keep on keepin on!

I've got some developing arthritis in my lower back and left hip. Sure does interfere with how hard I want to work sometimes. I started about a year ago at 335, just couldn't stand it anymore and felt like crud a lot.

Wow, congratulations! Changing your food world takes a lot of work and determination, and it's so worth it. Kudos to you! Meat and fats for the win. 🏆:emoji_sunglasses:

I got the normal Dad gain in my thirties (got married late) when wife was pregnant. The rest has was getting older, but my max was 220#. I'm back under 200# but still have the belly that pisses me off. Hoping that TRT will help regaining my leaner side.
Did you gain weight after going off the TRT?

Yes, likely the primary reason I gained so much. TRT is not a do it for awhile thing. It is a lifetime commitment and should be carefully considered. After going off my test plummeted to below normal , estrogen soared. Gained weight, depression etc it's ugly. Only reason I came of us because of the hematocrit issues. The first thing you need to do is get your total test, free test , estradiol , SHBG and LH blood work. It will tell you a lot about what you should or should not do. Far too many people hop on TRT when not necessary. IF it shows you need to address it next is to look at the various protocols. I'm actively researching the ones that have lower potential for issues. All that said while low test or more likely higher estrogen will make it harder to lose belly fat truth is it's still 99% diet. Abs are built in the gym and revealed in the kitchen the old gym bro saying goes.
